Specialities

Design &
Development

I love working with robust, long-lasting technologies: pixel-perfect, responsive native CSS layout is my core skill. I reproduce Figma mockups to the pixel and enjoy crafting animations.

For back-office, I have used Kirby CMS for years — a simple, robust and reliable tool that gives me full control over every line of published code.

Maquette Figma — conception UI/UX et webdesign

Figma

I know Figma inside out, for my own designs or as a bridge between graphic design and development. Wireframing, components, design systems.

Kirby CMS — back-office sur mesure, flat-file et flexible

Kirby CMS

An intuitive, ergonomic platform, close to Notion. Multilingual, mapping, image compression. On the front end, total control over the generated code.

Intégration CSS pixel-perfect — mise en page front-end sur mesure

CSS natif

A subtle and powerful language, often overlooked in favour of frameworks that bloat it. I write it entirely by hand, without a single wasted line.

Développement JavaScript — fonctionnalités interactives sur mesure

JavaScript

Everything interactive runs through JavaScript. Alpine.js, Vue.js and many libraries for bespoke interactions, from a simple toggle to an orchestrated scroll.

Kirby CMS development interface with Claude Code

Why Kirby CMS and Claude Code are the perfect duo for creative developers

Kirby stores everything in flat files. Claude Code reads those files directly. The result: an AI assistant that truly understands your site — no database, no mapping, no friction.

Creative coding in the age of AI

Artificial intelligence does not replace developer creativity. It shifts the cursor: less time on plumbing, more space for the ideas that truly matter.

Interactive Leaflet map developed by Emmanuel Lechat, freelance front-end developer

Using Leaflet to create maps that actually tell a story

A map is not a floor plan. It is a stage. Leaflet, used with intent, transforms geographic data into visual narrative — and every project proves it differently.

Kirby CMS, the freedom to build without technical overhead

WordPress is heavy. No-code solutions are rigid. Kirby takes the opposite stance: a CMS that steps out of the way and lets the developer decide everything.

GSAP and CSS, animating without limits

CSS handles simple animations with elegance. GSAP takes over when the sequence grows complex, when timing truly matters, when the animation needs to respond to scroll or interaction.

Native CSS vs Tailwind, perspective from a freelance front-end developer

Why I don't use Tailwind

Tailwind is everywhere. Job listings, tutorials, GitHub repos. And yet I don't use it. Here's why — without nostalgia or dogma.

What Kirby CMS allows that WordPress never will

I have been working with Kirby CMS for years. Not out of loyalty to a tool, but because what Kirby allows, no other mainstream CMS truly does.

How I organise my CSS on a project from scratch

No Sass, no Tailwind, no strict BEM. A single CSS file, structured by hand, top to bottom. Here is how it works in practice.
